Shelley Greig

Shelley GreigShelley bikingSpecializing in Nutrition and Weight Management, I can help you make sense of what healthy eating really is. My own personal fitness struggle helps me to empathize with my clients. You will find my approach is simple and effective with privacy and enjoyment priorities.

I am certified by the Canadian Association of Fitness Professionals and the owner and operator of "The Fitness Funatic Training Studio". I am proud to be an Associate Franchise owner of Fitness Kickboxing Canada a martial arts based program offering fitness and kickboxing combined. My ongoing educational studies and life experiences are centered on "lifestyle" fitness. My training style is down to earth and provides educational information that has inspired numerous individuals to successfully embrace and sustain a healthier lifestyle. I am very passionate about health and fitness and believe that this enthusiasm is passed on to my clients. I believe fitness should be apart of life. You only get one body, make it your priority!

I enjoy many types of activities that challenge my own strength and endurance. Weight training, martial arts, and boxing are just some forms of my own routines. I am fortunate enough to live in an area that provides me with beautiful scenery for roller blading, great cross country and downhill skiing, and challenging mountain bike trails. When ever possible I encourage clients to try new adventures, and sometimes we learn together.

Corrine Schreiber

CorrineCorrine skiingIt's hard to believe that just a few short years ago I could be considered your classic "couch potato". I am married with 3 young children and other than chasing after them I had lead a fairly inactive life. I firmly believe that when one door closes another one opens....here's why. After 20 years in the financial services industry I became a stay-at-home mom. It was the best thing to happen to me and for my family. The door closed on one career and opened a totally different one. I and my family are now completely immersed in physical activity one way or another each and every day. From couch potato and no physical activity to speak of, to hockey and soccer mom of 3, and having at least one child involved in lacrosse, baseball, cross country skiing or whatever sport they seemed interested, I soon became a sports fanatic. I pursued physical activity in the beginning for my own health and participate now on a regular basis in running, skiing, mountain biking, indoor cycle and kickboxing to name a few.

Being physically active has lead me to a rewarding and thoroughly enjoyable new career. I am certified with Can-Fit-Pro as a Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor. I am also trained as a Fitness Kickboxing Canada Coach and Cycle Reebok Spin Instructor. I attend annual conferences to continue my education in the fitness industry and to keep abreast of new and informative physical and healthy lifestyle opportunities. Come in and see me at the Fitness Funatic Training Studio and I can help you open a new door!!

Jenny Hatt

JennyJenny runningMy love for physical activity was engrained in my head from a very young age. Swimming, basketball, baseball, soccer, rugby, tennis, golf- you name it, if it's a sport, I have probably played it. I have been a swimmer my whole life, becoming a lifeguard at 16, and teaching swimming lessons and aqua fit to a large number of participants at the Waterloo Recreation Center as well as the University pool at Western Ontario. I enrolled in Kinesiology at the University of Western Ontario when I was 17 and became the University Football Team's Student Trainer in my fourth year of university. I have taken many fitness, health and nutrition, coaching and sports injuries courses throughout my university education.

Now, as a supply teacher for the Bruce Grey Catholic board, and in an area that I didn't know a soul, I needed something additional to keep my passion alive and get me out of my house! This is where Shelley and Fitness Funatics came in. I got into kickboxing in 2008 and found my passion for being active re-ignited and met new friends. Last year I decided to set a goal for myself to do more running (I found it very hard to run more than a couple kilometers). Well, I achieved it! I completed 2 half marathons in 2009, and have developed a love for running that I never dreamed possible. I also bought a bike this fall and plan to accomplish another goal of participating in a triathlon this summer.

I am and have always been a firm believer in physical activity as part of one's daily routine. Just like going to work, eating dinner, and going to sleep are all part of one's daily routine, so should physical activity. I enjoy helping people make physical activity part of their daily routine, and believe that anyone, no matter their past, can achieve anything they set their mind to. I would love to meet you and make physical activity a priority in your life too!

Cody Owens

CodyCody working outFitness has been a major part of my lifestyle since I can remember. Growing up in the Bruce County area, it was important that I found different ways to keep busy and to keep active. It was at a young age that I started participating in all different kinds of sports. Baseball, Hockey, Track and Field, and Cross Country are all sports that I have competed at a high level, while Tennis, Basketball, and Golf are a few examples of other sports I enjoy simply on a recreational basis. It was while I was enjoying all these different kinds of sports that I realized that Fitness and athletic performance was what I wanted to surround my life with.

I enrolled at Cambrian College when I was 18 in the Physical Fitness and Leisure Management program. During this Program I became a certified personal Trainer under the Ontario Society for Health and Fitness / Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology (CSEP). Since graduation I have also traveled to Montreal to take part in a TRX course in order to get certified with the newest piece of training equipment.

I have spent time and worked in all different parts of the fitness field, from small gyms to the large chains and even in the equipment supplier business. I have trained from Elite athletes, National Champions, Semi-Professional athletes, high school students, musicians, sedentary adults and the average person. It was while I was in a large gym in Toronto that I realized just how cold and impersonal the large chains could be. When I found how much the other trainers cared about their clients at Fitness Funatics I was more than excited to join the team. It is not about getting clients in and out at this studio but rather learning about them, catering to their individual needs and creating that everlasting trust and friendship between trainer and client.

I have worked with many different kinds of people and truly feel that I have learned and been affected by each one of them. I have helped them reach their different personal goals and in a way they have helped me reach a few of mine as well. Come in and see me at Fitness Funatics and let me give you the tools necessary for you to reach your own unique personal fitness goals!
