You will find my approach is simple and effective with privacy and enjoyment being priorities.
I started out in 1987 with The Canadian Fitness Council when group fitness was in it's early stages. Personal Training was unheard of then! With Marriage, 3 grown children and continuous education I am now the proud owner and operator of Fitness Funatics Personal Training and Fitness Studio. I am certified by the Canadian Association of Fitness Professionals as a Professional Personal Trainer. My ongoing educational studies have provided me with various certifications in Kickboxing, Nutrition and Wellness, TRX, Spinning and continuous cutting edge information and programs. As a Master Trainer with Lebert Fitness I teach and train other Personal Trainers to improve their skills and knowledge. My training style is down to earth and provides educational information that has inspired numerous individuals to successfully embrace and sustain a healthier lifestyle. I am very passionate about health and fitness and believe that this enthusiasm is passed on to my clients.
I enjoy many types of activities that challenge my own strength and endurance. Weight training, Mountain Biking, Cross Country and Down Hill Skiing are just some forms of my own routines. I am also currently working towards my black belt in Shitoryu Karate, however work and play seem to always get in the way!

It's hard to believe that just a few short years ago I could be considered your classic "couch potato". I am married with 3 young children and other than chasing after them I had lead a fairly inactive life. I firmly believe that when one door closes another one opens....here's why. After 20 years in the financial services industry I became a stay-at-home mom. It was the best thing to happen to me and for my family. The door closed on one career and opened a totally different one. I and my family are now completely immersed in physical activity one way or another each and every day. From couch potato and no physical activity to speak of, to hockey and soccer mom of 3, and having at least one child involved in lacrosse, baseball, cross country skiing or whatever sport they seemed interested, I soon became a sports fanatic. I pursued physical activity in the beginning for my own health and participate now on a regular basis in running, skiing, mountain biking, indoor cycle and kickboxing to name a few.
Being physically active has lead me to a rewarding and thoroughly enjoyable new career. I am certified with Can-Fit-Pro as a Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor. I am also trained as a Fitness Kickboxing Canada Coach and Cycle Reebok Spin Instructor. I attend annual conferences to continue my education in the fitness industry and to keep abreast of new and informative physical and healthy lifestyle opportunities. Come in and see me at the Fitness Funatic Training Studio and I can help you open a new door!!

I have always had a love of exercising and staying physically fit. As a young child and until age 30, I rode horses eventually showing and competing at local clubs and Fall Fairs in both English and Western as well as showing in the AQHA - Register Quarter Horse shows at the highest level and consistently placing in the top 5. Scuba diving is another love of mine. I hold certifications in IDEA Canada Open water diver, IDEA Advanced open water diver and NAUI Advanced open water diver. Now I have Tobermory practically in my backyard!
While in my late 20's I developed Asthma which only re-enforced my dedication to a healthy lifestyle. After Graduating from Conestoga College I managed Fitness 360 for Women/Popeye's gym in Kitchener/Waterloo and also became a Certified Personal Trainer allowing me to make a career in the Fitness Industry. When my husband's job brought us to Port Elgin I wanted to continue my career path and found Fitness Funatics. The Private Training at Fitness Funatics gives me the opportunity to work one-on-one in a beautiful facility with all the latest "toys" in fact my previous co-workers are envious of my new place of employment and my new hometown! I am a thorough trainer both in and out of the workplace. My clients are part of my everyday life. If you need consistency and accountability come in and see me at Fitness Funatics, together we can meet your goals and reap the benefits of a healthy and active future.

I began my fitness career in 1999. A desire for optimal health through proper diet and exercise led me to change my career path and become a Certified Personal Trainer. Specializing in Women’s Fitness, I have become passionate about bringing a healthy and fit lifestyle to the ladies of Saugeen Shores. I am a mother of 2 and appreciate the challenges women face with weight management and body image. I am a caring and compassionate trainer and will give you 100% during training sessions. I will motivate and encourage you while providing a safe and effective workout. As a SPI Certified Advanced Fitness Instructor, I also teach a variety of classes at the Studio – my favourites being Muscle Fusion and Cardio Step. 2012 brought a career highlight as I became a Master Trainer with Lebert Fitness. Along with Shelley Greig, we educate other trainers on proper form and utilization of the Lebert Equipment and provide expert knowledge when training our own clients. When not at the studio, I enjoy time spent with my daughters and lazy days at the beach in lovely Southampton. I’m known for my love of anything spicy, reading scary novels, and breaking out in dance when the music comes on!

You don't get what you want. You get what you work for"
My goal as a trainer is to change people's perspectives on the way they train.
I am always looking for new motivational and fun ways to inspire people to better themselves.
I was accredited with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) in 2008 as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Since then I have worked as a conditioning coach for a high school football team conducting both in season and off-season training schedules. In my first year with the team we won an Ontario Championship. As well as sports specific training I have also worked as the conditioning coach for a prestigious dance club in
Personally, I am a figure competitor with the Ontario Physique Association (OPA) at the National level.
Training is my passion and I like to incorporate methods that inspire other people to feel as good about it as I do. I love to work with individuals looking for big results. I deliver high intensity interval style training but can also gear it to those individuals just starting out. For the last three years I have been involved with the sports supplement industry and along the way have become very well versed in the combination of training and clean eating to help achieve maximum goals.
I am results driven and will get you where you want to be!

I was born and raised in Port Elgin, and after 8 years in London, I'm happy to be back in the area with my husband, raising our young daughter. I developed a love for fitness and nutrition while studying for my English degree at The University of Western Ontario. Now, when I'm not at the gym, I spend my days singing nursery rhymes and playing games with the funniest, silliest little girl I know. I used to focus on fitness so I looked good; now my daughter is my inspiration. I want her to grow up feeling strong, capable and empowered, and I want to be the best example for her... and I want to look good too.
I'm a Certified Personal Trainer but you're most likely to see me in the saddle of a spin bike. In my class you'll encounter hills, sprints, tabata drills and my peppy personality. I'll push you to your limits in class, but I guarantee you'll leave feeling accomplished, proud and excited to do it again soon.
Enough with a Sunday stroll….let’s hurt a little bit.
Rachel!
