Class Description

FITNESS KICKBOXING
A one hour fitness workout combining punches and kicks with 2 minute round timed partner training using arm shields, and/or heavy bags,  finishing with core conditioning.  And just to make you really sweat ...every once in a while we'll throw in a little MMA "GROUND AND POUND"  



BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE KICKBOXING
Learn the basics combining punches and kicks with 2 minute round timed partner training using arm shields or just take advantage of an earlier class.  All equipment is supplied and the wrist wraps are yours to keep!


KNOCK IT OFF with Muscle!!!!
Train your body to improve strength, balance, co-ordination, quickness, power and reaction skills with an assortment of innovative simple equipment. Learn correct techniques and proper form taught through repetitive sets and reps (no fancy foot work).

YOGA
Karly will challenge your "inner" strength with her teaching style.  Become strong, flexible, and stress free.

Saucony Run/Walk

Take part in this group learning experience with the goal of running 5 k in just 4 weeks.  Various time slots are available to allow flexibility.  For the experienced runner, improve your speed or come out to meet new running partners and renew your commitment. Check back for spring session, Cost-$25.00 includes Saucony Shirt

Grade Ranking System

For Goal Setting & Recogntion

As in most martial arts training and fitness programs, participants are divided into categories distinguishing skill and fitness levels: Beginners, Novice, Intermediate and Advanced. Unlike martial arts that take years of diligent training to attain proficiency and ascend through the rank belt structure, fitness kickboxing is designed adhering to self-defense and fitness related benefits, which usually can be realized within six to twelve months. Like many other fitness programs that offer pins, certificates of accomplishments and other forms of recognition, fitness kickboxing can offer an incentive or recognition program.

The participants shall be given the opportunity to attend grading classes for the opportunity to be skill tested to progress in ranking. Those participating in a grading will receive hand wraps distinguishing their new rank as well as an approved copy of the Fitness Kickboxing Canada Inc. Rank Recognition Certificate.

The recognitions are established at the discretion of the instructor on the basis of the participant demonstrating required techniques in accordance with the Fitness Kickboxing Canada Inc. grade ranking system, their level of training, fitness improvement and adherence to all aspects of the program. The levels provide for short and long term establishment in Goal-Setting over a 3-6+ month periods.

It is generally accepted that fitness training yields its most noticeable benefits in the first 8-12 weeks. Therefore the Beginner program will be structured over a 1-2 month period. Those attending regularly, demonstrating basic competence in the prescribed techniques, and progressing towards their own fitness goals will be given the option to move on to the Novice classes. As participants move on to the Novice Level, more complicated and physically challenging training and combinations are implemented. The Intermediate Level, will incorporate much more complex and physically demanding cardio vascular and muscle movement skill patterns The Advanced Level will be the ultimate challenge in fitness kickboxing workouts.

Note: Sparring is not permitted unless the club is a recognized Club Member of the Canadian Amateur Kickboxing Association (CASK).
