

I first met Shelley Greig through a co-worker who asked me to join her in Fitness Funatics "Walk to Run" program in June of 2009. At that time I was too embarrassed to admit how overweight I was. That small connection with Shelley brought my attention to the possibility that one day maybe I could actually get into shape. With my daughters wedding looming ahead, and the desire to be healthy, I just decided to get committed to losing weight. In April of 2010 that same co-worker invited me to try Semi-Private Personal Training with her. I took that as a sign and before I had a chance to talk myself out of it I said… "What the heck, sign me up" I would NEVER have been brave enough to join a gym otherwise, since in my opinion gyms were for skinny people wanting to stay in shape, not grossly overweight people wanting to get into a more active lifestyle. Boy was I wrong! I've been working out faithfully since then with Shelley, Corrine and Tracey doing Personal Training and attending classes. Recently at my daughters wedding in May, I hit my first weight loss goal….85lb decrease! I was thrilled! But I'm not where I want to be quite yet. I'm continuing my new healthy journey to hit a 120 pound weight loss. When I asked Shelley what was the most weight anyone has lost under her direction, she told me she had one client that hit a 100 pound weight loss, so I told her I'd do one better and reach the 120 pound mark just to show her I can! I hope through my journey I can encourage others like me, who fear stepping into a gym. See you in class!
